7:30 AM: Depart from Ho Chi Minh City by van or bus and travel via the Trung Luong Expressway to Cai Be.
Upon arrival in Cai Be, embark on a boat ride to the remaining site of a once-renowned wholesale floating market on the Tien River. This site offers insight into the local trading habits that have evolved with modern society and the dominance of terrestrial transportation and advanced agricultural techniques. Here, you can witness the area's diversity and the richness of its orchard gardens, making it the fruit basket of the lower Mekong River.
Explore small villages and discover the beauty of ancient houses and indigenous culture. Visit a small family business where locals make coconut fudges and crispy rice popcorn. Enjoy fresh fruit and experience the slow rhythms of Southern Vietnamese folk music, entwined with the life and culture of the Mekong Delta people.
